There have been far more subtle schemes in the past to use "multis" to provide advantage to their respective main characters.
I would suggest looking up the case of Commander earlier in the history of the game, which caused several rule "clarifications". Specifically General Rules 3.13.2 and 3.13.3.
The rules have always been clear, it is just that occasionally the admins specifically address situations that have been considered as acceptable in the past.
3.9. Additional characters created for any kind of support to the main one are forbidden.
3.10. It is allowed to create additional characters to familiarize yourself with features of other factions. Additional character must be completely independent; remember, that extrachars created for financial profiting of the main character in any way are blocked without hesitation.
This is why I personally don't have any multis - there just doesn't seem to be any point in having them due to all the restrictions.
Having a multi renders you more vulnerable to accusations of impropriety and accidental interaction. So IMO it's better not to have any.
Have Fun
Grunge | After the merge I did the same, just to see that non action has been takin' (even after 3 months).
i wont say that he will escape from punishment. it just take time to proceed and only if admin could give a hand, sometimes, perhaps. | to be honest, IMO, any form of multi shouldnt be allowed.
to argue with 'try a faction', it is not a strong reason. remember that all your time spend on [LG, HG, fsp], those will still carry on after you switch faction. you still enjoy the bonus [more wage, bonus attack parameter, faction resistance, etc].
we all know that you will need to build faction resistance later on. you can just assume you start it early [due to playing a faction you dont like].
think other way around, 'try a faction because i want to know how good this faction can be' is even weaker reason because you will just find my favorite quote here :P
well, i just live with the multi rule since admin allowed; although it give hard work on both player [try to cheat as best as they can] and admin [try to catch all cheaters as hard as they can] lol | I've read long time ago in the .ru forum that it is ok as long as your multi sell it without gold loss (including the 1% tax). Is it true, or it was misleading info?
That is misleading. It is totally illegal. There's already information about this in our forum, too:
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=2089242&page=0#33155766 | 3.13.6. Additional characters are not allowed to buy, trade or exchange insignia, and rare/set artifacts.
Rare artifacts are any items that are not displayed in the Artifact shop and that cannot be acquired in hunt. Shop artifacts of increased durability are not rare artifacts and may be traded by additional characters.
Additional characters can enter the Thieves' Guild using diamonds, TGIs may not be bought by them. Additional characters may trade rare artifacts obtained in chests of abundance, TGIs obtained through reaching TG level 5, Thief, Plunderer, Ranger, and Tactician sets artifacts obtained through leveling in respective guilds, but only at the market as auction for 3 days with initial price of 1 gold and no buyout price.
I have a question about multies.
What about event arts?
Like goblin bow, for instance.
Is it allowed for multies to sell them, and does they have to sell them "at the market as auction for 3 days with initial price of 1 gold and no buyout price"?
I could not find that answer anywhere :( | #25 rules are clear on this : Rare artifacts are any items that are not displayed in the Artifact shop and that cannot be acquired in hunt. : so these are rare arts and need to be listen for 3 days etc.. | Well, i do not see what is clear?
It says: Additional characters are not allowed to buy, trade or exchange insignia, and rare/set artifacts.
Rare artifacts are any items that are not displayed in the Artifact shop and that cannot be acquired in hunt.
And: Additional characters may trade rare artifacts obtained in chests of abundance
I repeat: rare artifacts obtained in chests of abundance
Since event arts are not obtained in chests of abundance it is definitely not "clear" that they should be sold on auction.
From this rule i would say that multies can not sell event arts at all.
I would really be thankful if Arctic could clarify this.
No offense DiN but seems to me that it really needs an official clarification, i think your logic is wrong.
This what you are saying is not written in this rule. | Yes, event artifacts may be sold at the auction at the above conditions, 1g, 3 days, no buyout.
Indeed it is not clearly stated in the rules. Thing is, such artifacts are rewarded massively to any participant who has fought enough combats, so they can hardly be considered rare.
I guess I can make an addition to rule 3.13.6 to specifically indicate this about the event artifacts. Thank you. | so they can hardly be considered rare.
they will be rare - if for nothing else, the passing of time will make them scarce. some of these arts are pretty good, e.g. Unholy Knight Helmets sell for high amounts of gold.
anyay, what's the difference for an add char, if an item is sold after 3 days, than 2 or 1 day? what's with the gold rush for the add? | The 3 day auction is part of the rule because if the auction period is very short, someone could get a great deal off an auction of the additional character. For example, if an additional character posts a rare item as an auction for 30 minutes, very few people who are interested in buying will see it - most people will miss it because of the short time frame. This could lead to someone getting an extremely good deal from an additional character, which is not the purpose of additional characters. ^^ | I guess I can make an addition to rule 3.13.6 to specifically indicate this about the event artifacts. thanks for that add in Rule 3.13.6. now it is clear. |
