After reading the 2nd part, it seems that the story reflects khan's bad temperament and the definite independent actions of his subordinates like dark shaman, this forms a storyline for the war of tribal versus barbarian where the tribal king will lose it as he obviously underestimates the barbarian tribes.. and the dark shaman will probably turn against khan and assist barbarian to use dark magic... maybe that raven flew as a messenger to barbarians.
