Tentative of a crime is a crime. Punishment is not only for the worth the robbed valuable, but also for the gesture of robbing. Otherwise everyone would start robbing around, and if found, they would just return the valuable. That's a no-risk thief job. Everyone would do it.
Nothing left to discuss here. | Well in terms of the game I know who "robbed" me, so no problem "finding" him.
Nevermind, we believe in different standards I suppose. I respect your opinion, I just think things could be better for the lenders and that the community could hate less. | I think there's too many issues lumped into this discussion, so I'll state my views point by point for clarity:
1. Failure to return a debt on time is NOT equivalent to failing to return a debt per se. My analogy is a personal example: I've held the same credit card since 1996 and in these 16 years, I have failed to make timely payments (and have been fined) numerous times. But never once has the bank threatened to cancel my card or curb my expenditure, in fact they have upped my limits by 3x in that period. This would have been different if I had failed to make payment altogether. In the case of the offending player, his block was for "debt not returned on time". Just as the bank wouldn't have re-possessed my card for late payment, it doesn't make business sense to block a player and deprive his creditors of a fair chance of repayment despite his tardiness.
2. Past offenses (in my case, it's the late credit card payment penalties) are not cumulative to a whopping punishment in RL. According to RL law, you cannot be convicted of a crime twice. In the case of the offending player, he was acquitted (unblocked) so past indiscretions should not be added to a list of charges unless he was proven guilty of committing a similar crime/offense AFTER acquittal. The definition here of "similar crime" pertains to the same act but not the same victim.
3. There is a difference between Admins taking action e.g. imposing blocks/penalties/etc versus "Others" taking those similar actions. As I have intimated earlier (and inferred to by various posters), the power to impose sanctions and the actual application of this power does not seem to come forth from Admins. This is left to the individual's interpretation and I shan't pursue this. | this maybe a case of financial assistance, but i dont know.
if it is others are very much allowed to complain a guy.
but in this case, he was definitely blocked for debts not returning in time.
i really dont understand how/why other can complain a guy? the person who loaned is gonno suffer if he hasn't pay. why should others worry or complaint? | i really dont understand how/why other can complain a guy? the person who loaned is gonno suffer if he hasn't pay. why should others worry or complaint?
Because a player could easily gift a lot of gold to another player. Player A, who is inactive and doesn't play anymore, could give a "loan" to his friend, player B. He tells his friend not to return the loan since he doesn't care and he just wants to help his friend. If other players were not allowed to complain about this, it would never be brought to the admin's attention since player A (the player who loaned the gold) would not complain about it because he never intended to get his money back. |
