+1
Should be applied to Magic Guild level 5 .. :) |
Maybe introduce obstacles e.g fire pools with fire damage if you walk over them
This game should be about tactics (obstacles will enhance tactical play)
I want you to think about this. We have control over where we go, but not how we get there. How will I be able to avoid anything when the mechanics simply do not allow us to choose our path, but only our destination?
On the positive side of things, we do have obstacles: Rocks and other troops :D
Anyways, as for the topic at hand: We have weather and some terrain variety in our game already, and they each COULD have their own effect. (That black-ish one could cast a -1HP poison to all troops, just for fun) And as these people have said, it's already random, so we needn't worry of being able to pick. And for reference, you should check out RendingBlade's topic in the Creative Section, it has some "Terrain". Peace out. |
-1 speed would kill dark elf faction.. since they rely on first turn strike with shrews, if they lost that then they would be underpowered and at the mercy of gmb or monks or orcs ^
youre wrong
if its dark elf vs barb both lose speed so no problem |
as some people are for visual choice only, where others are for the stat-effects:
choice of background + weather effects check-mark box at the battle-setup |
oh and ofcourse a 'random' option....
so:
- [choose background dropdown menu] / [random background button]
- [weather effects on/off] |
+1 for effect of weather and terrain on battles
-1 for most of the modifications proposed
something like +1/-1 attack/defense and/or +1%/-1% ini will be reasonable |
So far ratings stand at 50.5% great and 49.5% bad...
But thanks for your helpful comments anyway. How about suggesting terrain enhancements instead of commenting those 'comments' please, if you know what i'm hinting at. |
Small effects like -1 luck to all in necromancer-type terrain or -5% ranged damage in windy weather could be interesting in PvP and merc quests, but it really must be equal to everyone. In huntss it could mess up a potential hunt record
So +1 for small effects in merc and PvP
But -1 for hunts or unequal effects |
-1
Agree with hellish_fiend |
What about tiles?
Freeze tile: Decreases stack initiative by 2% for 2.5 turns
Lava tile : Halves 50% of a single stack's unit health
Moat tile : Causes virus[Stacks within 2 tiles' reach of the stack with 'virus' gets infected and loses 1.5% health more each turn]. |
I don't like the idea of affecting the stacks at all. But it would be pretty epic to battle during a rain storm, or spill blood only to have it turned pink by fresh fallen snow. |
They should not affect any particular faction but all players.
Like +3 att for elves is wrong but +3 atk for all is better but not perfect either |
+1 If it can be finetuned and balanced properly.
-1 If it occurs to often/ has to much of an impact on combat
Idea: Maybe lords can learn spells to change the weather to their favor? |
That would make it in a favour of magic guilds, bad idea. |
Not really, if a magician chose to change the weather over raising troops or casting much stronger spells for little bonusus such as weather they would be foolish, but thats for another day |
-1 not balanced....... |
-1 i just dont like it.
fights should be won by strategies(this z what makes all factions equal )
and not some lucky or unlucky battlefield. |
How about we could chose a talent from our talent wheel which grants us the possibility of being affected by the terrain of the battle.
In such a case, the buffs and debuffs as posted by the idea suggester are justified as the user is taking a risk of either getting a good buff or being cursed by a debuff. Either case, the profit or loss is substantial. |
Right. |
