I was about to ask the same thing. |
I want to wait until jedi has checked that I understand it correctly.
I don't want to cause trouble when I am sober. I cause enough if I drink too much alcohol . |
so has jedi checked it? |
Well I can tell you what my friend says in her covering letter
"My dear Rilin,
I am sorry it has been so long since I wrote to you, but until recently I had no idea where you were. It seems such a long time since we studied together with Sorith. I am now chief librarian at the Academy of Arcane Studies. Do you remember when we walked those corridors as students? News of the deeds of many warriors in the recent struggle against the infernals in the lands that you now call home reached us here, and I was able to see that you are living in the Yellow Lake area. I hope that you and your people are happy and well.
The following manuscripts came into my possession when our Empress here donated some old books to the library. They were pressed within the pages of a hefty tome called “The history of Toadstools – biology, ecology and geographical locations” by Marsup Glone. I have to admit that I would never have opened the book if I hadn’t dropped it. It fell open at the place that the papers were inserted. It is incredibly boring…unlike the enclosed. They are in the Empress' handwriting , and look like pages torn from a diary.
I did not know what to do with them. It is unsafe for me to pass them to anyone here, and I know that you will ensure that the right thing is done with them.
Sincerely,
Your friend and sister in magery
Valeshy"
As you can see...I studied with a man called Sorish and it seems it was the same Sorish tha visited here.
I can also tell you that the letters she encloses suggest amongst other things that our Empress HAS visited their Empress. |
Oh I do wish that boy Syrian would hurry up with that translation from Jedi
(sighs impatiently) |
syrian left.
In his mind, the contents of the letters were of no interest, but he could never pass up a quest.
He went to find Jedi. But as the day drew to its end, he decided to have a hot meal at the nearest inn.
Then, out of the blue, he felt a presence; everything happened quickly: the swift move to the right, then backwards, the grasp of the sword and the defensive pose.
In front of him, his enemy, an old friend:
"Ah, syrian! You do not recognize your former mentor?" - The man was happy to see him.
"My mentor was Cobrain; not you, Dogul!, said syrian.
"Come on, let us have a meal and talk about things! I haven't seen you in a long time, how is everything?, Dogul said, in a warm fashion.
Syrian got a bit suspicious. Dogul was the the Head of his assasins' guild... so much warmth should mean trouble. But still, he decided to go for that meal with the Leader of his former guild. Authority was something syrian had no problem with. And who knows, maybe he could help with the letters?
Lady Rilin! Can't a Dark Elf have dinner with an old acquaintance? Maybe Dogul can be useful somehow... |
we all wait with you Rilin |
Syrian I told you to give those letters to noone except Jedi Knight. Please get on with it and give them to him! I don't want rumours spreading. Please do not trust this man with this sensitive -looking material. |
Man Syrian rillin put his trust in you the letters will now self-destruct if they aren't touched by Jedi-Knight in the next 24hrs.
May the letters be discovered and understodd |
Where's the rush, mates? Jedi is nowhere to be found at the moment... And finding him might take me a while too. But the letters are safe with me, rest assured.
Besides... Dogul has the strange ability to make himself useful... In the most unexpected ways... |
Syrian you young whelp you are to either give those letters to Jedi or bring them to me right now!!!
"angry, Rilin is so angry" |
Rilin was quietly seething. Syrian was a lovable rogue, at least so far he had been, but what on earth was he doing!
Rilin had only been able to make out a little of the meaning of the letters that Valeshy had sent to her....Damn Valeshy for sending them in fact!
From what she could make out it seemed that The Empress of the far off land had a brother who had disappeared after a mystery illness.
It seemed that our Empress was there at the time and it seemed...no...that could not possibly be true.
Where is Jedi? What is Syrian up to? "I'll kick his backside when I catch up with him" thought Rilin.
"Maybe Lognar? Yes maybe the slayer of noobs may be just the one I need to help here....if he doesn't get sea sick of course."
Rilin returned to her kitchen where a batch of biscuits were burning in the stove, having been left and forgotten in her reverie.
"ill omen" she thought to herself and shook her head in despair.
|
Yes, I'm here, awaiting your orders Lady Rilin. |
Hello Logran. I am so glad to see you. I wondered if you would have time to do an importanr errand for me. It may take you a day or so. It involves a sea journey, but I can help with magic to make it fairly short.
Will you have time? As you can see from the above writings ...Syrian has redefined the word "help" and I need someone to investigate in the far off land. Someone needs to talk with my old mentor Sorish. Will you go? |
Hello Logran.
It's Lognar.
And yes, I will go. |
Sorry Lognar, my poor senses are frantic. I do know your name but am getting you mixed up with the bartender.
Thank you. I have some things for you to take as a means of introduction. Please call at my caravan and I will give them to you, and also some sea sickness potions ....and also a nice warm vest |
Alright, I'll be right there. |
I'll be back too... this dinner is getting somewhere...
Time passed, amid good food and heavy drinking. Dogul and syrian talked about evertyhing... And when the moment came, Dogul asked to see the letters.
"Well", he said after a first glance. "It's been a while since I came across anything in this language". The reading got interesting, Dogul couldn't take his eyes off the papers. After a while, he smiled. "Syrian, my friend, it seems fate presents you with an excellent opportunity."
"What do you mean?"
"It seems the Empress did something in a distant land. Something... bad".
"Go on..."
Dougul browsed through the pages with growing enthusiasm. |
Iam rattled about all this.......how can troops get letters.......and wat is all stories???
I am rattled
Please explain all to me!!! |
for Pankaj_Kalra21:
-_-
Well, apart from the first actual question if anyone could remember Sorish, this thread is filled with roleplay-material and not actually related to the game.
I left it unlocked because I enjoyed reading it, but it should probably be locked... AD are strongly encouraged to continue in Off-game part of the forum though. ^_^ |
