well this is good for everyone because all the resources didn't get bought anyway. plus whats with the lab at GC on maintenance?

More than likely they mistaken reset the lag in GC like they did everything else, since there is no price set for purchase it is impossible to buy the mercury there.

I hope they did it to see how the market works, where production goes quickly, where slowly, where are some mistakes with system and so on. If it's just central government intervention to make us happy, it doesn't please me, because it doesn't solve the bases of the problem. I'd like to see system that works instead of administration helping it from time to time.
Looks like Empire was far away form liberal rules of runnig economy...

no enroll = no product, logic?

so, once the mining stop working, the chain will start. it affect the machining and production facility. at the end, you still cant enroll your BELOVED Blacksmith of Power or so on.
There is another important change: less work places in factories:
YL: leather helmet and leather armor from 9 to 3.
I see it in a positive way:

The economy aspect of this game is kind of poor. Yet. If you get everything everywhere, the market is only for people who are too lazy to travel and traders who make like 20 coins per item they sell.

I think, with the current and coming shortages the economy gets more realistic.

Smithes will get more work, there will be less leather armor sale under price, you actually have to take care, that you got some ressources to enroll at Blacksmith of might.

About logic: Is it logical that a sawmill has 60,000 wood for sale? Wouldn't it close in real life because of minimal demand?

Just one point of view. If you share it, you will encounter, that the past economy was a bad joke, now things start to get more real. And I think, this is the admins' logic behind it (Well, and maybe to draw even more gold from the players to get some more donations, possible, too). ;)

Btw, I think they have reduced the click war (for example at Nickel works, East Bay). But I have to confirm this.

#36 I disagree with statement that now the economy gets more realistic. Making stocks empty doesn't fix the process, which leads to overproduction. Generally, numbers of resources and artefacts have been changed, but processes stayed the same. If the processes aren't changed, we will have e.g. 60.000 wood again, it's just a question of time.

Leather armor plant, good example - is it logical in the real world to produce less than demand?

The problem is, that there's no working economical system in this game.
