Not sure why this is in Q&H. We all know there's no definite answer, unless it comes from the artist who drew the animation himself. Every guess is as good as another. I think everyone knows that, so they treat the question as such and try to give some much needed humor in this forum.
My guess would be a ball of holy fire. |

according to the description from HoMM5, monk range attack is something like energy (soul? fist? mind attack? or something similar) from Asha (so called the god in the world of HoMM5)
well, from what we saw in LWM, it was like a holy water drop from sky LOL |
the monk throw a piece of meteorite shards....
no doubt about most player lost their meteorite.... :P

We can all clearly see it is a sphere that travels up, then down to descend doom upon an unsuspecting foe.
Therefor, it has to be ROUND.
Next, we observe it requires some form of ammunition. Therefor: it has to be a MATERIAL.
Finally, it glows. So it has to have a GLOW.
Now, let's add these three together.
A GLOWING,ROUND,MATERIAL (that obeys laws of gravity)
They launch this glowing round material with their maces.
So, I am led to believe that the maces are actually Lightbulb launchers.
A lightbulb gives a round light, it looks similar to a mace when it's on a stick, it's a material, and it glows.
But my question would be...
Where the HECK is the powersource that makes these lightbulbs glow? |

Hmmm my guess would be silver crosses. but it can look like anything from ice-cream cones, molotovs, cannonballs, or a combo of it all?

well, in HOMM 5, they rose the holy symbol and as it glowed a smoldering piece of meteorite fell on the heads of their blasphemous enemies :P
the animation presented here in lordswm is probably an unfinished/unsuccesful attempt to replicate that :D |
OK. You people have come up with ideas that are extreme and funny. But that is not what the Q&H is for. So
