Giving money to the Clan for no reason would also be considered a gift or present IMO.
And before anyone else suggests it, donations by the Alt in any fashion should be classified as a gift or present. The dictionary definition of "Donate" from dictionary.com - "to present as a gift, grant, or contribution".
The Alt giving money to the clan for other reasons is essentially disallowed by the other part of the Rule 3.13.
In any case, the only real purpose for doing any of this would likely be an attempt to circumvent the rules for Alternate Characters.
Remember that the purpose of Alternate Characters is to "familiarize yourself with features of other factions" (Rule 3.10). It is *not* for familiarizing yourself with the Theives Guild, becoming a Smith or Enchanter, or starting a Clan. That's what your Main Character is for.
Trying to think up creative ways to confound the rules is not a pastime I would recommend.
