Have you tried standing in a corner so only two of the stacks can reach you?
Then you can block the path to the right by your hero with one insignificant stack. By waiting in the wave before you can accumulate initiative so your units will get to move before the sphynxes - This I propose is best achieved by letting a few of the bandits live for some rounds so you can get all your troops in the corner. The bandits will not do any particular harm the couple of rounds they get to shoot if there are 5 or fewer of them.
But I can understand your frustration as a DE as the shrews give a huge advantage. They should give out a price for best DE without shrews also, heh. :) |

i killed all sphynx guardian and i reached 12 th wave but it was insane for any de without shrews in 12th wave |
