Playing with few people around also means you have less trouble to enroll to high-wage factories. And grabbing sought after artifacts.
I was wondering why this game which is maybe the best browser game dont get enought advirtise...? If u think that this game is beeing played from ppl all over the world 400-1k ppl is nothing!

That's 400-1000 people constantly.

If the average player plays 1 hour per day everday, then that's actually 24* (400-1000), so that's actually a lot more players. And that's only for this server.

Though I agree with better support and advertisement the number could easily ballon 10x more in a few short months.

High wage factories and machinery is nice, but I like the less competition in selling resources to the factories. I get more gold from selling the resources than from the higher wages. :)
For me it is better if not too many players play here .. coz the server will be lag again if it happens :)

it's not the advertise. it's the server capacity.
it's the server capacity

What is the problem with the server capacity?
barring the recent lags, there is no problem with the server capacity :}

I don't believe it's a server capacity issue.

The lags don't always happen during peak players online. I believe it's a server stability issue which was mostly corrected when the server was switched in the last admin announcement.

I'm not sure what's the real issue, but I would guess maybe aside from server stability, the lags might be a result of scripts.

If the admins add more convenient and useful interface features, the # of script users would drop a lot, but there would still be the high server load scripts some players use. Those players could be banned if admins paid more attention to the CAA topics and the enforcement of the rules.\

Anyway the # of players isn't capped by the server. The server doesn't auto-kick out players or prevent players from logging in when it is full.
umm yes... you are probably right, but i meant to say something different, while answering the above question about not enough advertising.

be it server capacity (not enough ram, cpu power, storage space, etc.), and thus not being able to handle, as you say, most stability issues and mass scripts usage; be it bandwith/hosting capacity or something else, whatever it was it's now completely fixed after the server switching - that's a fact. but it keeps going stable _because_ of this still small # of players.

i think the number of playes _is_ actually capped by the server because i have some reasons to believe it. not saying they are exactly right, it's just my point of view :}

here is the main reason:
i am playing on .ru since they celebrated there 2000+ players online. and from this moment on, the number was growing everything but slowly. we observed a few... waves of growing. from around 2k online to ~4k-5k, then ~8k-9k and up to 13k at he moment. (one of these waves was right after the AP rule & FSP cut were implemented in order to cover the number of players leaving the game... but this is another issue).

so these "waves" are most likely a result of a few mass advertisment campains. when you have a constant number of banners posted, the nymber of registered (online players respectively) is increasing gradually, not suddenly. even more, nowadays banner advertising is cheap and easy. and that is why i believe it is made when sopmething significant happens, like the servers got upgraded and verified they could handle the load.

however, as i said, that's just my observations. i'll be happy to hear another opinions from players with experience on both servers about this.
i once saw 666 ppl online XD
but i guess thats regular here XD
