nah, look at the world.
the investment staff at the bank'll either risk our money and we get nothin back
or scandal our money away...
How else'll the bamk earn money to give us interest??
then there's also bad debt or write off when players can't pay back the loan or installment esp with the AP rule in force...
then we cry for help from the empire?? | This idea of a bank sounds nothing more than an easy way to earn extra income.
Instead of only saying that you think we should have a "federal" bank, and going on in detail to explain how the bank will function, please justify your idea.
Imo, a bank with guaranteed daily interest rates would:
1) Encourage savings. This causes an economic slowdown and contradicts what the Admins had done; compulsory arts so as to increase consumption and stimulate the economy.
2) Inequity. if u pay more gold u could upgrade ur bank account and have higher intrest rates... This is progressive interest. So only the rich can afford to upgrade their bank account and enjoy higher interest rates, while the poor struggle with their everyday costs and never save enough for a bank account with decent interest rate.
3) Inflation. An empire-owned bank that gives interest to players will introduce more gold into the game. The increase in money supply will cause the value of gold to depreciate. If not put under control, the whole game economy collapses.
4) No risks?? The idea of investment isn't too bad. If you want to earn some extra income with your spare cash, it is only reasonable that there would be some risks involved as well. No investment results in an absolute 100% profit.
But in fact, we already have such things going on. Renting of TGI is an example of investment. If you're rich, buy one and rent to someone. If he's trustworthy, you profit 60k every 2 weeks or so. That'll earn the bank some interest to pay for the savings player put in the bank, etc.. |
