Author | Solution to the "problem." |
xinj ~ the easiest way to at least ease the problem would be to cap how much you can sell the basic resources for on the market.
That would indeed be a nice solution. It would keep resources in the machining and production facilities and not in the market. This would, however, take a gold-making mechanism out of the game. The majority of profit coming from resource sales are PvP trades. Though you are right, your plan would help everyone in some way; though instead of some people having alot of gold, everyone would have a small amount of gold. People who do not sell on the market would not see any more gold than usual; and those who do would eventually be brought down to that level. Good in some ways, bad in others.
LordSchniesel ~ Be a saint, be a polpular character, who shares with the poor! Be a legend of LWM, one of the ones, who got the rest out of the crisis.
This is certainly the most admirable way to work through this. Hopefully some of us will take heed of your words.
You had mentioned that the mass discouragement would effect the devs profits adversely. This may be true, though those just coming into the game will have known no different and will likely level and learn to deal with what we see as new. The higher level players will likely stay, and we will simply have a new set of new players rising the ranks. If many people leave, the only thing we will notice is a slight gap in the levels for a short period of time. No other long-term consequence.
And something sad about it: When we don't solve problems like this in a GAME WORLD, how we should solve them in the REAL WORLD?!
Hahahaha xD This is the exact thought that sparked my little rant in the first place ^^;
StorminMerlin ~ I disagree totally. This has nothing to do with the concept of supply and demand at all, and makes a mockery of the term 'free economy'. I have no idea what the solution is, but it certainly doesn't involve preying on our fellow players' needs.
I stand corrected. I used the term "free economy" without thinking. Supply and demand within the game is corrupted because of the Empire's constant subsidizing of the facilities. That alone negates the idea of a free economy and I had not considered it when writing any of this. My apologies. My main point, though, still stands as I intended. | Apologies for the triple post. The original post was too long. Luckily I copypasta when I type that much ;D
The majority of my replies are at the bottom of the first page for those interested. | The best things we can do is to work hard, try to always work every hour we can .. we use our time efficiently ..
For the mercury : plzz stop being panic .. The Admin will do something .. I believe ...
[ TO ADMIN ] : Plzzz solve the problem of lacking mercury and Defender shield ASAP ... thx a lot
Best regards,
Randhy | As far as all this goes, its way too much too absorb and follow all at once, especially for a brain damaged fellow such as myself(my apologies to anyone who plays this game who really has brain damage) but I by far do NOT have alot of money but I know why. Cuz I liked to spend money. Key word liked. Now I think that if a resource is low the price should go up, just like gas did, but then I guess that would definaltly encourage hoarding. Either way thats life. I personally think as a poor person in life and in game u can only blame one person... urself. Come on people, does anybody have rent to pay in this game? How about food, or other such real life expensenses? If your off fighting all the time wasting away your durability of your artifacts and not balancing your finances of what u have, like I tell my kids, whos fault is that? As far as the administration is concerned I think, and I'll say it again, I think!!!!, that they put a cap on profits to prevent people from hoarding. And if people do hoard so the freak what!!!! Your gonna get mad at them becuz they're smart enough to think about tommorow? Now mind you I'm broke too, so this is comin from a realist, a pretty darn broke*ss realist. I'm old and I know how unfair REAL life economics can be, but at the same time I put little effort into bettering so I get little back, you get what you give. If you spend and spend and spend, I mean really, what do you expect to happen,"oh well I'll just ask mommy or daddy for some money." And this is just a game peps. Now don't go hatin on me, but if u do, remember, truth hurts, so suck it up and realize that in real life u can't go out and earn money by hunting monsters or get 180 gold with only 1 to 2 hours work!!! You know how rich we would all be?! I know, I know, its different cuz its a game so maybe I shouldn't be so literal, well if your comin at me wit that, then look at yourself! | @24
Well said....and so very true. My kids think money grows on tree's and because of that they think that everything they do should be as easy whether real or virtual. They are only now realising as they grow up that 'life' is not as easy as it was when they were younger and you have to work to attain your ambitions/goals. This is also how it is in the 'virtual' world aswell but at least they can choose to play a game or not, reality is not an option...you get on with it or get nowhere, the more you put into anything usually means more rewards in the long run. | Estate pledges the owner
That's my favorite joke in the German constitution, it's way to vague to properly enforce it. It didn't stop Nokia or Siemens, nor will it stop fuel prices rising before holidays or the power cartel in Germany or anything else.
PS: I like my neck how it is, no need for a rope. | It's a game, not real world. Competition doesn't necessarily end when you leave the battlefield. When you deny another player, a rival, the means to fight, you're already winning. You don't have to apply real world altruism here. We're here to beat the crap out of each other. XD | Grusharaburas is the winner. |
